A Digital World

When it comes to using and  participating in technology, there is actual knowledge that should be obtained and applied, for responsible and safe experiences.

There are two things you want to focus on in engaging in technology, which include Digital Literacy and Digital Citizenship. Digital Literacy describes more of the education behind using the internet, such as knowing where to locate information, where to send information out, who to communicate with, how to communicate with others, what tools help certain apps and programs as well as helps you operate in these programs, etc.

As far as Digital Citizenship, this focuses more on the individuals actually active engagement in the digital world. This can go from collaborating on private chatroom, public online blogs or websites, different games or apps. This allows for information or Digital Citizenship to be applied in the "real" digital world.

In the article, Morris made a few key points in what should be observed or implied when you are participating in the digital world , which include how searches online leave trails of information behind that anyone can access as well as how that same information can be easily shared but not easy to get rid of. I completely agree with these claims, and because of these, feel that everyone wanting to use the internet should learn certain things in Digital Literacy and Citizenship, for the ultimate safety of themselves and their personal lives or space as well as in protecting others information and spaces as well.

  1. The internet is incredible! You can look for everything and anything, but like you said we have to be careful with it as well because you may think you deleted something but it truly never really gets deleted from the internet. As the consumer we have to understand this for our safety.
