Review of Tool (Activity Plan Part 2)
The Gumball Machine activity from the Exchange is pretty inclusive for all types of students. Because it uses gumballs as values to be counted, kids with learning disabilities like dyscalcula or other situations like ESL students would have little to no issue comprehending the lesson material. The Smartboard is easy for both teachers and students to interact with, to encourage student participation with the activity. The fact that the students will be able to come up to the board and write their answers in themselves will help keep them engaged in the lesson. Also, the Smartboard is easy to adjust in height, which makes it accessible to students that may be wheel chair bound or have other orthopedic impairments. Lastly, the fact that it is a group activity gives the children a chance to discuss among themselves and ask questions if they have trouble understanding anything in the lesson.
