Lesson Activity 2 Part 2

For my activity I chose to use smart board which is an interactive tool used by many schools. This app has fun, different, and creative ways to implement lessons in a classroom. Using the app I was able to create a fun and interactive activity for the students to do. Using smart board, one can use one of the many games/templates already provided on the app. Or an individual can get creative and create their own activity based on the topic/lesson. For my second lesson I decided to create my own activity using smartboard. The students will match the photos that we see in our environment on a daily to the correct corresponding shape. Using this app, the students get to come up and interact. I wish there was a way I could have the app state things aloud when being touch for students who may have trouble reading, seeing, or have other impairments. After a lot of research, I came to the result that this app does not have this feature but it is still really great. Doing so the students will be more engaged in the lesson and can connect the topic to their own lives. I believe using smart board is a good idea because children are already so familiar with technology. Using an app for educational purposes shows students that they can use technology to learn while having fun.

One way I can accommodate the activity for ELL students is providing the page with labeled photos in the students native language. Doing so the child has a visual and a written example to help guide them when doing the activity. For children with physical impairments, the teacher will have the student verbalize where the item goes on the smart board activity rather than coming up. I will make sure to demonstrate the activity to all the students before having them begin and if any students still have trouble. I will provide them with visual instructions that they can go back and look over for assistance.
