My lesson plan 2 I decided to do sink or float. I will be using Quizizz for this so the children will be able to interact with the smart board. I will be reading a book and going over vocabulary with them before hand so they know the differences between the objects that will sink or float. Taking into consideration all students with disabilities and who are ELL I am here to help. My students which are ELL will be given the same Quizizz as everyone else but I can program their device to the language which they are speaking for them to understand. It will help them as well to have the picture for a large visual.
The limitations with this site is that children must have a computer, phone, or tablet in order to access this. They will know how to be internet safe before using the technology so hopefully it won't be an issue.

Lesson plan 2
For my lesson activity, I plan to use two different tools. I will present a powerpoint going over what matter is that includes solids, liquids, and gases for a 4th grade science curriculum. Followed by the powerpoint they will be testing their knowledge of the content through kahoot and Flip Grid video.
Kahoot was interesting to learn about as doing it from a teaching prospective. Its a great way to have fun and incorporate learning from within the class. Students will be be required to answer questions on kahoot from the matter presentation we went over in class via powerpoint. Students are required to have their own kind of technology such as a phone if the school does not provide resources for them to use. This tool times the students on how fast they answer a question and shows a leader board after each question is asked which can create some limitations if some students names are on the leader board while others are not. Another limitation can be for those who are ESL/ELL learners or deaf/hard at hearing. Students may have trouble reading the prompts or may not do very well with the time restraint.
Flipgrid video is also a great resource for students who have a disability because it allows the student to stop and process the information prior to talking. The video response also opens up availability to deaf students so they can sign their answers. Flipgrid is not timed like kahoot, so the pressure of answering in 20 seconds does not apply to the students.
Assistive Technology Guidance Manual
Universal Design for Learning is a set of principles that guide curriculum development resulting in
equal opportunities for learning of all students. There are guidelines and qualifications that must me met for each grade for a student to be at standard levels. They take into consideration that not all learning can be taught the same and that all students will understand so that is why they have extra help for those who have a harder time at learning. When I was doing my observational hours in a SPED classroom, there were some students who were taken out of the classroom because they were not up to the standard in the class and needed more guided learning. Teachers should have a variety of how they teach material such as objectives on the board, they also need to be reiterated vocally because some people are auditory learners. Both UDL and AT have three common goals for learning variability that being students are able to receive multiple representations of the content that are best suited for the individual student. Students are to be engaged in curricular activities in a way that is informative into what is being taught. Finally students are allowed to present evidence of their learning that is best effective for them and how they actually learned the topic.

Who Knew Testing Could Be FUN?
I ended up choosing Go Formative as the assessment tool for my Lesson #2. I originally picked this tool because it said it would be great in a one-on-one math session which sounds great for my focus in math. Playing around with it, there are so many options available in just the free version that it's actually shocking. Signing up is very easy, you're not bombarded with deals that you can buy, and you can even search for what standards you have to follow so they're readily available to you. You can choose between a whiteboard that kids can draw/type in to explain their problem-solving skills or show their work, with a live update on what they are drawing to your screen. There are multiple choice, true or false, multiple selection, short answer, and essay. If you wanted to pay for more you can allow students to submit a voice response, do a category question, graph a math equation, order a sequence, and even fill in a numeric equation. You can assign how many points each question is worth, attach the specific standard that problem works with from when you picked what standards you are aiming for when you first signed up. There are a lot of options for how you want to see the results too but that can be a whole other paragraph. Sharing is made easy with a link that I've attached here, or you can go to the website GoFormative and type in this code (NVFYHC) to take my short quiz.
Overall, I love this tool and I only spent one class period playing around with it!
Lesson #2 Evaluation
My lesson aimed to teach how to multiply fractions by a single digit whole number in a 4th grade, math lesson. My lesson activity involves pretending the classroom is now a bakery, and the students are bakers. Depending on their skill level assessed by you while you were teaching the lesson, students are split into three differentiated groups: decorator, cupcake baker, cake baker. Decorator being the low end for skill level, cupcake baker being on-level, and cake baker being a high-level learner. Each group will get a worksheet with fraction times a single digit whole number problems to complete together. They are able to use an interactive fraction bar tool to compare fractions and help them work through the problems. This tool can be displayed on the board for the teacher to use with the whole class or specific group, and on individual Chromebooks/tablets if available. This is such a great tool to include because it is very intuitive to use, allowing for individual use of it. It helps the student visualize the size of fractions and then to drag the visualization next to another fraction helps the student compare for value.
Some limitations of this lesson are sight, sound, and time restrictions. If students have limited sight that is a problem because of how small the numbers on the blocks are in the interactive technology tool. There is also no sound options in the interactive tool. Also, the time given is the time of the class period, so if the student needs more time it would have to be at home or during another part of the day.
I found three great resources to help these limitations:
- Vision Assist
- Beeline Reader
- Voice Dream Reader
Playing around with these tools, I can see how they perfectly cater to the problems that appear in my lesson naturally. Vision Assist is all about catering to vision disabilities. Allows for the problem of small numbers to be solved in a fast and simple manner. Then there is Beeline Reader which is such a useful tool for anyone whose eyes go cross-eyed after reading off a screen for so long. It also makes an easier format to read if audio is not an option for the student. Lastly, there is Voice Dream Reader which is for students that have more trouble with sight than hearing. By automatically reading what is on a document and transferring it into an audio file allows for the student to have more time actually working on the problems, and not trying to translate, taking work time away.
Assessment/Tool Design
With Kahoot! I was able to make an assessment for my alphabet lesson plan to review what the students have learned and what they still need to learn. This will definitely be played in a small group due to the fact the students are preschoolers. I will have to read the questions to them and go over the answers with them. With a smaller group it's easier for me to be more hands on with them. There are 5 questions with 2-3 answers each, and they select one correct answer. At the end of the quiz I can see what they did well on and what they still need to work on.

With Plickers I can use it as a whole class activity where the students work together to come up with the answer and shout them out compared to each student doing it on their own or working in small groups.

Assessment Tool/Design
After playing with assessment tools in class today, I decided to create a 5-question assessment using Quizlet. I created an assessment on my activity plan 2 which is on 'The Life Cycle of a Butterfly'. This tool was very easy to use and I think that students in the elementary grades would enjoy using these online flashcards to study for an assessment. The answers to the questions are displayed on the back of the card so that students are able to check their answers. The link to my assessment is below. Feel free to check it out! :)

In addition to creating a quiz using plickers, I also created on using Kahoot. This site was always a hit even when I was in high school, and I kids of all ages love it. Why mess with something that is working, right? My quiz is a very basic one about the names of different animal's homes. I found that both tools worked about the same for creating the quiz and both were equally as simple to sign uop for and create a quiz on.
The code for my Kahoot quiz is: 395784

Quiz Design Plan
I decided to use Quizziz for my quiz. I thought that creating the quiz was very easy to do and also like the fact that you could incorporate images into the quiz. After creating the quiz the teacher can present the quiz in multiple ways. One that was most appealing to me was the live quiz. Once the instructor forms the live quiz students simply go to join.quizziz.com and enter the game code that is provided by their teacher. This code is auto generated each time you initiate a live quiz. Students can join the game on any device that has access to the internet. Overall I think the experience using was Quizziz was very pleasant. It is user friendly and offers a lot of features. It is also integrated with your google account as well.
Activity plan 2 part 2
My activity plan is intended for preschool age students (4-5) and is on letter sounds. Not all of this lesson involves technology, but it is integrated. The first portion opens with a video played on the smartboard or projector for the whole class. The next part does not involve technology (for most - I will address this later) because students will be interacting with one another. After that portion, technology will be involved. Students will play a game on the website abcya.com which they will access on their own. Once they complete that, they will select a tool on their own to use to create an illustration representing an assigned letter.
None of the tools on the
Free or Low-Cost Assistive Technology paged seemed reasonable for teaching my lesson o,r having all of the students use because of heir young age as they focused a lot on writing (which my students will not quite be doing yet). However, there are two tools that
I would use for hearing or vision impaired students. Sound AMP R for the hearing
impaired while watching the video, finding their partner in the first portion of the lesson and listening to instructions. The main limitation I see with this tool is that students will have to have their tablets with that at all times so it can convey the sound to them. For vision impaired students, they will use Turn off
the Lights while working on their tablets, not only for this lesson, but for all other lessons that involve their tablets. Although, I am not sure if this will work for every app and website they need to access.
Lesson Plan 2
7. Digitize
content with Office Lens
I can use this tool in my lesson to take pictures of pages
in a textbook or number learning book for my students to access at home. I can
make it accessible through their parents’ email or through the schools’ online
portal for my students to practice at home. I can also find a worksheet online
to print out and take a picture of to make accessible for them as well. I can
play around with the pages or worksheets I find to change any font sizes, add
any color to the text, and add or delete any pictures to assist students with
any visual impairments.
With technology advancing, many phones, laptops, or tablets
have a feature where you can take a screenshot of a picture and use a digital
pen (using your finger) to write on the screenshot. With any worksheets that
require tracing over the number, the students can screenshot the worksheet and
trace over the number. They can then send me the screenshot via email or the
online portal, so I can grade them and track their progress.
This has a huge positive impact because since it offers
students to do work outside of the classroom, it is more flexible for them and
their parents. With that, their parents are more involved with the lesson
because they can assist them on their own time.
Both these tools get students really involved with
technology. With the smartboard activity, it allows students to work together
with their peers. Not only are they learning the material, but they are also
learning social skills.
With the smart board activity, it can only be done in class.
It limits students to work outside of class. However, they can access abcya.com
at home which is great.

Lesson Plan (Two) Review
In my Lesson Plan Two, I will engage my students in the usage of tablets in the classroom.
I know how important it is to introduce technological tools in the classroom, because of the benefits of using the tool. In the lesson plan, I first introduced myself as an instructor, the class grade level, the courses content, then I gave the steps of how I will introduce the use of tablets to my class, from class discussion up until physically allowing my students to engage in use of tablets in the class.
I think tablet use in the classroom is very beneficial, because it allows for a less traditional way of participating in reading, writing or presentation. For a real life example, in one of my observation classes, student were able to participate in online programs during class, because they were able to follow along with the teacher, on their tablets. This allows students to use a more creative outlet, for assignments, presentation and even exams, which can want the to be more interested in what is being taught, encourage participation.
I will say a limitation is the accessibility to the tablets. Students should only be allowed to use the physical equipment in the classroom, where they can be monitored for how they are treating and operating the tablets as well as if they are using the appropriate programs. Encouragement of them getting familiar with the programs used, so they can participate with them at home if they do have access to tablets at home.
Tablet usage is beneficial for students with visual impairments because the devices have sound, as well as for students with writing impairments because the can point on things they want to say or write out, such as typing, giving them a way to build confidence in a alternate way of communication to writing.
Lastly, student wouldn't have to worry about being without a tablet, because the school or class can supply each student with their own tablet, through the school's funds for technological assistance.

Lesson Plan 2 part 2
For my second lesson plan I will teach 1st grade math- place value. This lesson plan is design to use a smart board and a little kahoot quiz. During my lecture I will used smart board to introduce new topic two digit place value. Student will also used a base block to create different number for more hands on learning, so thy can feel and tough different block and more understand the concept of place value. This lesson is places for all students.
For my planned technology tool I used 2 different one.
First is Microsoft Lens. Lens can use everyone with disabilities, ELL student, or student with visual problems. Lens is an application with can be dowloaded on student devise. Then student can take picture of a smart board, book page or screen form computer. This application will convert the picture to a world or PDF document. Student can add this document, translate it to the different language or make it larger. They can use this for taking notes from smart board and coming back to them. It is very easy to used so even first grader can use it.
Second is TapTapSee. TapTapSee is application on devise which can help ELL with learning same as students with visual problems. This application take picture of object and a voice will describe this object. In my math class, student will be able to use it, take a picture and it would describe a base ten block. It will say an amount, color, length and name of the object. For ELL student, it is good tool to learn descriptive word and their vocabulary can increase.
Limitation of these application would be their usage in math. there is not lot to take picture and know the meaning of it. However , better usage would be in science or language arts.
In my own experience, I would love the TapTapSee application when i was ELL student. I would learn quicker.

Lesson Plan 2
For my lesson plan 2 I plan on using smart board because it’s a great tool to engage students to want to learn. Smart board is a fun and an interactive tool for students. Students will be learning about fractions and will be taught the lesson through smart board. They will have a game where they will have to play and answer fraction-related questions. For the students they will be called up individually to answer the question on the smart board. Smart board although has its limitations where students with ELL/ESL or other different learning disabilities can't understand what is being taught on the smart boards.
I want to also use the tool Office Lens which is a great tool for students. Students can make the lesson into a document so that way they can view it later. This is also helpful for students if they didn’t come prepared they can take a picture of it and upload it to theirs phones or even laptops so they can have it saved. Office lens is a great tool for students with certain disabilities for example the documents can be read out load to students who have visual impairments, or even students who are deaf will be able to read and highlight on the documents. I found office lens as great tool and accessible to all students with or without a disability.
This tool can be downloaded and students can access it either on their phones or even laptops/iPads which are usually provided by the students schools.

Activity Plan 2 Part 2
Review of Tool (Activity Plan Part 2)
The Gumball Machine activity from the Exchange is pretty inclusive for all types of students. Because it uses gumballs as values to be counted, kids with learning disabilities like dyscalcula or other situations like ESL students would have little to no issue comprehending the lesson material. The Smartboard is easy for both teachers and students to interact with, to encourage student participation with the activity. The fact that the students will be able to come up to the board and write their answers in themselves will help keep them engaged in the lesson. Also, the Smartboard is easy to adjust in height, which makes it accessible to students that may be wheel chair bound or have other orthopedic impairments. Lastly, the fact that it is a group activity gives the children a chance to discuss among themselves and ask questions if they have trouble understanding anything in the lesson.
Lesson 2, Part 2
The planned technology tool that I used for Lesson 2 is a resource called Flipgrid in which students can create interactive videos in which students can reply to. I intend to use this tool as a resource for digital discussion. Not only can Flipgrid be used for academic purposes, Flipgrid can be used for socio-emotional activities within the classroom to help with the classroom community. Flipgrid allows for students to share their voice in the classroom through the intimacy of a video. Students that may be a bit nervous to talk within the classroom can use Flipgrid to engage in the classroom academic discussion. Also, students that may have specific learning disabilities that have trouble with writing can use Flipgrid to engage in academic discussions through videos.
Flipgrid is utilized in Lesson 2 as a chance for students to interact with each other in an academic discussion about the parts of plot in Kate Chopin's Story of an Hour. Students will use Flipgrid as an After Reading homework activity. The activity will be used as an assessment assignment for the teacher to see that students understand the story, the plots of the story, as well as ensuring that students are interacting with each other and discussing the plots of the story.
Limitations with Flipgrid may be limitations with ELL students who may have issues with language barriers. Students can use Skype Translator. Students can use the Skype Translator tool to translate their first language into English to engage in academic discussion with their peers for the purpose of the assignment.

Lesson Activity 2 Part 2
For my activity I chose to use smart board which is an interactive tool used by many schools. This app has fun, different, and creative ways to implement lessons in a classroom. Using the app I was able to create a fun and interactive activity for the students to do. Using smart board, one can use one of the many games/templates already provided on the app. Or an individual can get creative and create their own activity based on the topic/lesson. For my second lesson I decided to create my own activity using smartboard. The students will match the photos that we see in our environment on a daily to the correct corresponding shape. Using this app, the students get to come up and interact. I wish there was a way I could have the app state things aloud when being touch for students who may have trouble reading, seeing, or have other impairments. After a lot of research, I came to the result that this app does not have this feature but it is still really great. Doing so the students will be more engaged in the lesson and can connect the topic to their own lives. I believe using smart board is a good idea because children are already so familiar with technology. Using an app for educational purposes shows students that they can use technology to learn while having fun.
One way I can accommodate the activity for ELL students is providing the page with labeled photos in the students native language. Doing so the child has a visual and a written example to help guide them when doing the activity. For children with physical impairments, the teacher will have the student verbalize where the item goes on the smart board activity rather than coming up. I will make sure to demonstrate the activity to all the students before having them begin and if any students still have trouble. I will provide them with visual instructions that they can go back and look over for assistance.

Activity Plan 2- Part 2
My lesson plan-2 is on the life cycle of a butterfly and technology is being incorporated throughout this lesson through the use of videos and images. My students will be watching a video during guided practice on the 'life cycle' of a butterfly to gain a visual representation to learn from and will classify butterflies by type and color through images displayed on their iPads. Although technology may not be incorporated heavily during my lesson, using the technology tools stated will enhance my students learning and keep students engaged.
A technology tool that I think would be great to incorporate into my lesson would be the Shahi Visual Dictionary which is designed to help students with a visual learning preference or English language learner. I think that this tool would be great because when a student needs to define a word, this dictionary includes pictures which would be helpful for students who may have a hard time searching or pronouncing the word. Pictures would also help students come to understand the definition of a word.

VIP access to all
Smart boards are a cool, different, and creative way to form lessons that keep things fun and
informative. After watching the ten tips to make your
class more accessible,the
smartboard lesson I found on smart exchange was now not as accessible as I thought. Some of the colors are similar and could be harder to read than two contrasting colors. I also added
an extra tool to make the presentation more interactive for the students.
The website Wixie is
a similar platform to paint. I used it by creating a document for the
students to use along with the page on the smartboard. Another tool I
wanted the lesson plan to go with would be a read aloud one.
However, with the tools listed, I found that the formats don't go
well together so getting to that step is a longer process than I want it
to be. I will be using Office lens app to scan each of the slides of the smart board presentation
and convert them to word documents so students can use natural reader to have the slides read aloud to them. The
office lens app is a great tool that takes pictures of any document. It can then convert the document into multiple different forms, such as a word document. Word documents can be put into the tool
natural reader where the content can be read aloud to the
students. It highlights the words as it goes along so the
students know where they are at all times. Smartboard is a great
tool and can be very interactive but the format is hard to convert and for
that reason it could use some improvement to be more accessible to all
students. With the modifications I have made to improve the natural reader, great value will be added to the activity plan. Now the slides are
accessible to more students than before. There are limitations
because this is time consuming. With how the presentation is laid
out to move things that are covered and be revealed one step at a time.
Having the content available to be read aloud will help increase the
activity's accessibility to students who need it. I do think there is a better way to do this. I would do a screen recording of the presentation with a voice
over. That way the students can see the motion of things moving on each
slide and get a better understanding. Their lesson would then be comparable to the lesson given to students who don't need the content read aloud to them.
